About GetMyInstaBack: the people, the method and the editorial rules

Who runs this site

GetMyInstaBack is an independent service that helps people with Instagram account problems. It is run by @0t0k0n on Instagram, and the same person reads your first message and follows the case to its outcome.

There is no office to visit and no call centre: everything happens online, for clients anywhere in the world. You can write in any of the 25 languages this site is published in, and you'll get the answer in that language.

GetMyInstaBack has no connection with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Neither company endorses or sponsors it.

What we take on

SituationWhat our help looks like
Suspended or disabled accountReading the notice, choosing the right review request and preparing the case around the rule Instagram cites
Hacked accountWorking through Instagram's security email and hacked-account flow, then locking the account down
Lost email or phoneFinding the identity-confirmation route that still works for the account
ImpersonationFiling a documented impersonation report, by you or on your behalf
Reach or Account StatusReading Account Status and appealing or removing flagged content
Content about youMatching the content to the policy or law it breaks and using the right form
Accounts that should be closedFake, scam, deceased or underage accounts, through Instagram's own report and request forms, with truthful reports and real evidence

We don't take on requests to close accounts that follow Instagram's rules, and we don't file false or coordinated reports.

How a case works

  1. You describe the problem on WhatsApp or Telegram, or through the case form on the home page, which only prepares a message for you to send.
  2. We reply with a free assessment: which official route fits, how realistic it is, and roughly how long it may take. If we don't think it can work, we say so.
  3. If paid help makes sense, the price and terms are agreed with you in writing before any work starts.
  4. We prepare each appeal, report or request with you and keep you updated until Instagram answers.

What we never do

  • Ask for your password, login codes, two-factor codes or backup codes.
  • Claim to have contacts inside Instagram or Meta, or promise a result. Instagram makes every final decision.
  • Help anyone into an account that isn't theirs, or try to remove content that breaks no policy or law.
  • Do an identity check for you. Video selfies and ID uploads are always done by the account owner, inside Instagram's own flow.

How we write and check our guides

  • Every claim has a source. How Instagram works is checked against the Instagram Help Center. EU rights are checked against the European Commission's Digital Services Act pages and the text of the regulation on EUR-Lex. Each guide and article lists the pages it relies on.
  • Only attributable numbers. A figure appears only when a named source publishes it, such as Instagram or the European Commission. We publish no made-up statistics, testimonials or success rates. The official time limits we quote are collected, with a source for each, in Instagram deadlines and waiting times.
  • Dates on every page. Each guide shows when it was last updated. Instagram moves menus and changes processes, so we revisit guides and point out where exact steps can differ.
  • Options, not legal advice. Guides explain what you can do. They are not legal advice and they can't guarantee an outcome.
  • One set of facts in every language. Guides are first written in English and then adapted for each language. Every version keeps the same facts and links to the same official sources.
